ABOUT

We provide nothing less than AWESOME in a bag.

There are hundreds of Coffee Roasters out there.....  So why choose us?

We sell in 1 pound bags, always a bit more (were talking value here)!

We're Veteran Owned and Operated (lots of those out there)

We charge a most reasonable price for shipping (FREE)

Well to get FREE Shipping just order three bags (oh you West Coast people kill me on shipping).

Our coffee is always FRESH.  You order... We Roast!

We use the highest quality coffee (top secret supplier)

We use the highest quality flavors (top secret supplier)

Your satisfaction is our top priority (I drink this stuff too)

We are consistent when we roast (very very important)

We only roast small batches (yes that is important too)

We don't get rich doing this (I'm not rifle something coffee and you won't see a roast date on that Walmart bag either)

I have fun doing this and thoroughly enjoy it (and coffee and beer)

It’s who we are, it's what we do, and we are proud of it

And just so ya'll know, dark roasts have less caffeine than light roasts, the 10 second rule on shots is hogwash, steaming milk to 170 is NOT a bad thing)

Lastly.  Transparency.  Well that's me.  You wanna know how I roast?  Ask me.  I don't hype my coffee or try and sell you equipment.  I don't make statements I can't back up.  I don't proclaim my coffee to be the best on the planet (Lol, but it is).  I won't charge you a dime for information.  And I don't claim to be an expert on anything.  But I will tell you I roast damn fine coffee, our website isn't the fanciest, and I'm a horrible salesperson!

So really, who are we?

We are G.H. Coffee Company.  A Veteran Owned and Operated business.

We started this back in oh around 2012.  I had wanted to start a coffee shop for a long time, but didn't have the money nor the time.  So I got the bright idea to start roasting coffee in my kitchen in a popcorn popper (for myself).  Now that was a good time....  However it stunk up the house pretty bad (especially those dark roasts).

So I researched and looked (Oh, I did this for quite a while).  Then got ahold of the then startup company called Mill City Roasters.  Got me one of their 2K (bout 4.5lb, 5 if I stretch it) roasters, and yup it was made in China and literally was on a slow boat here....  And this roaster has done well over 300K pounds of coffee (that is not a misprint, I've been doing this for quite some time now).  And it is still chugging along today.  FYI, It's a Drum Roaster and pretty manual.

I had no clue what I was doing.  I had no idea how to operate this thing, I had no idea how to roast beans.  And at the time, there wasn't a whole lot of information out there.  So I plugged away at it, didn't burn the garage down, nor blow myself up (good thing).  And after awhile and a whole lot of beans later, had started making some damn fine coffee.

We are old school here.  I keep a paper log of EVERY roast that goes in the roaster.  No fancy electronics here (nothing against them either).  You set your drum speed, you set your fan speed, you set your heat, you time your batches.  And try not to get distracted and burn up your beans (done that a time or two or 20).

And the one thing I learned throughout all of this was CONSISTENCY.  The logs don't lie.  They tell the story of your roasting.  They tell you when something needs looked at or cleaned (which is quite often).  And this to me, is what makes a great cup of coffee (well, unless you get crappy beans, which we never get).

We try our best to get Organic, or Fair Trade or Women owned Co-op coffees when they are available.

We offer coffee at a reasonable price by keeping our costs at a minimum.  We use high quality valve bags, and our labeling is 2nd to none.

We also operated two busy Coffee Shops for around 7+ years and are quite experienced in their operations.  So if you are looking for some wholesale beans or have any questions about operating a shop (or trailer), or equipment, just send us a message.  We'd be more than happy to help.

Seriously though, I thoroughly enjoy my job (so I really don't consider it a job).  Especially knowing that every bean that goes out of here will be enjoyed by someone else.  And if my knowledge can help you succeed in your endeavors, then my mission is complete.
